Free AI image detector for any picture

An AI image checker for art and photos. Upload a picture and find out how likely it is that an AI generator made it. Works on Midjourney, DALL-E, Stable Diffusion and more.

How to read your AI image detector score

The detector gives you a single number from 0 to 100. It is the estimated chance that an AI generator made the image, not a yes or no. Here is what each band means.

Probably real

Looks like a real image. We did not pick up the patterns AI generators tend to leave.

Hard to say

Some signals point each way. Look at the image closely before you decide.

Probably AI

This has the marks of an AI generator. Worth a close look and a check of where the image came from.

How the AI image detector works

Two steps, a few seconds, no setup.

1

Upload an image

Drop in a PNG, JPEG or WebP. Nothing is stored once you have a score.

2

We scan the pixels

A vision model checks the image against the patterns AI generators tend to leave.

3

Read the score

A number from 0 to 100, plus a plain read on whether the image looks generated.

What the AI image detector looks for

AI generators leave traces a camera does not. Odd textures in hair, skin and foliage. Lighting that does not quite add up. Warped text, jewelry and hands. Smooth, almost too-clean surfaces. A vision model trained on real photos alongside generated images learns to read these patterns across the whole picture at once.

It does not understand what the image shows. It reads the low-level fingerprints of how the pixels were produced, which is why it can flag a convincing image or clear an odd one.

How accurate is it?

Be honest with yourself here: image detection is less reliable than text detection, and no tool is close to perfect. Newer generators are built to look photographic, and each new release chips away at what detectors have learned. Expect more false alarms than you would get checking text.

Screenshots, heavy compression, filters, cropping and editing all push the score around. Treat a high score as a reason to look closer and check the source, never as proof on its own.

AI art detector and AI photo detector

The model is trained mainly on modern diffusion output, so it does best on images from tools like Midjourney, DALL-E, Stable Diffusion and Flux. Brand-new generators it has not seen are the hardest cases, so weigh borderline scores on very recent images carefully.

Where your image goes

Your image sits on our server only long enough to be scored. The moment you see a result, the file is gone, along with any frames or pixels we read from it.

Nothing is logged or saved, and there is no account holding a history of your checks.

AI image detector FAQ

Is the AI image detector free?

Yes. Upload as many images as you like, with no account.

Which generators does it catch?

It does best on modern diffusion tools like Midjourney, DALL-E, Stable Diffusion and Flux.

Why is it less sure than the text detector?

Image generators improve fast and aim for photo-realism, so any image detector has a harder job and more false alarms.

Does editing or compression affect it?

Yes. Screenshots, filters, cropping and heavy compression all change the result, so use clean originals where you can.

Do you keep my image?

No. It's analyzed in memory and dropped as soon as you get a score.

Is this an AI art detector too?

Yes. The same check works as an AI art detector and an AI photo detector, since both come from the same kinds of generators.

Can you check text too?

Yes. Use the main AI detector for written text.
